THE CAMBRIDGE ROAD.
BOARD RESENTS REPORT. DECLARES CONDITION GOOD. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] CAMBRIDGE, Tuosday. TJie secretary and members, of the Cambridge Road Board, interviewed regarding the report with reference to the bad state of tho road to Hamilton, especially the assertion regarding its being comparable with tho old llangiriris, state that it is grossly exaggerated. As a matter of fact, the road, with tho exception of a half-mile stretch on the Tamahcro flat, has never been ib better order during tho past 20 years. _ It was admitted that the half-mile at Tamahere was bad, but this was said to bo duo to tho fact that the wet weather came on and prevented the contractors from completing repairs on this stretch. The board has tho matter, of repairs to this portion in hand, and when they aro completed the road will bo in first-class condition from Hamilton to Cambridge.
