MOTORIST IN A HURRY.
50-MILE-AN-HOUR DASH. What was described as " one of tho worst motoring cases ever before the Luton Bench " was heard recently, when Luke Houghton, an engineer, was summoned for driving to the public danger and failing to stop after an accident. It was said that Houghton drove up Gallow Road at 40 to 50 miles an hour, natrowlv missed a bus, swerved across tho road, knocked down and injured a young man, wrecked a motor-cycle and damaged another, and drove on without stopping. . ; * Houghton, who : pleaded guilty, said he was in a hurry. • He, was _fiiiod £lO in each of the two cases and £3 costs, while his licctiio was- atttpauded for two years.
