Canterbury. French.—H. P. Geaney, Auckland. History.—W. G. MqC'lymont, Otago. Economics.—Alice G. Brown, Victoria College. Philosophy.—H. E. Field, Canterbury. Education. —R. A. Falla, Auckland. . Mathematics.—A. F. McGeorge, Otago. Physics.--H. M. Nimmo, Otago. Chemistry.—C.. R. Barriicoat, Victoria and J. C. Andrews, Auckland (equal). Botany.—lsobel Macdonald, Auckland. Zoology.—D. Miller, Victoria College. Law.—S. I). Weir, Auckland. Tinline Scholarship.—G. M. Cameron, Otago. Post graduate scholarships in arts were awarded to R. Syme, B.A. Auckland Lniversity, formerly at Victoria College, and A. B. Cochran, 8.A., Auckland Univer--81 Three free .passages were awarded as follows : —A. B. Cochran, 8.A., Auckland University, T. E. Beoby. M.A., Canterbury College, and R. 0. Buchanan, M.A., Otago University. Two other free passages, the 1851 scholarships, and the engineering travelling scholarship, were left over to be awarded at a meeting of the Senate to be held in Christchurch on May 19.
