COURT BARBER'S DEATH.
KING EDWARD'S FAVOURITE. "SEEN BUT NOT HEARD." A. and N.Z. LONDON. ApL 16. Charles Jaschke, the Court barber, has died, aged 65, after a most romantic career. He arrived in London with only £2 in his pocket, and commenced business in a very small room. His toilet preparations became famous, and through personal recommendations ho built up a flourishing connection among tho aristocracy. Jaschke was aboard Lord Dudley's yacht at Nice in 1901, when he was first commanded to attend King Edward VJLL., who appointed him Royal barber on tho spot. He daily trimmed King Edward's beard, which was his proudest achievement. King Georgo was accompanied by, Jaschko on his Empire voyage in the Ophir in 1901, also on his Indian tour in 1912. King .Edward once complimented the barber. "What I liko about you, Charles, is you do not talk a lot; you are seen but not heard."
