KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR.
WOMAN GRAVELY INJURftX>. ACCIDENT IN WELLINGTON. [bi telegraph:.—OWN correspondent.} WELLINGTON Friday A serious motor accident occurred at the corner of Manners and Taranaki Streets at about 2 o'clock this afternoon, when Mrs. Evans, of Tasraan Street, was knocked down and gravely injured. According to eye-witnesses of the occurrence, Mrs. Evans had just stepped 68 the footpath when a car stfuck her. Tho car crashed into a lorry belonging to Walling Brothers, which was being driven up Taranaki Street. The right mudguard of the lorry was the only part which was • noticeably affected, but the right wheel and the engine of tho car were extensively damaged. The steering wheel also waa broken. Mrs. Evans was taken to the hospital, where her condition was found to be very serious.
