The market for parcels is depressed in (sympathy with Liverpool and America. Liverpool futures aro quoted-May, lis 9}d per cwt; July, lis 9}d. The spot trade is fairly active. Australian ex-ship is quoted at 61a 6d per quarter. Flour.—Firm and dearer. Australian exstore is quoted at from 47b 6d to 48s. Barley.—A shade easier. Australian Chevalier is quoted at 625. North Island, heavy 10|d, light lljd. The demand for Now Zealand lamb runs principally on light-weights. The market is firmer. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton: North Island, heavy 83d, light 9d. The demand for New Zealand mutton is poor. The market is weak. Quotation for New Zealand prime ox beef: Hinds 53d, fores 4id. The demand for New Zealand beef is fair, and the market is firm. Good average Quality orossbred lamb: Australian, heavy lOJcl, light lid. The demand for Australian lamb is steady. CANTERBURY MARKETS. [BY trELEOItAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Millers stats that during the past couple of days there has been a better offering of wheat at the schedule prices. The buffeting partially Btacked wheat may have received during the present,bad weather spell is expected to stimulate offerings. Oats aro about the same as 10 days ago, buing somewhat weak. A grade Gartous are worth 4s 5d f.o.b, s.i., or 3s 9<l on tiucks, with B Grade, 4s and 3s 3d respectively. Algerians are worth 3s 4d to 3s 6d f.0.b., s.i., or 2s Sd to 2s lOd on trucks. Partridge peas aro very sticky and are quoted at 5s a bushel on trucks. . . A fair quantity of white clover is being offered by farmers but buyers are somewhat shy. The cause is the low quotations from England. Values hero are lOd to 12d a lb to farmers. There is not a great deal of red clover offering. Italian ryegrass is quoted at 2s 9d to 3s on tracks. Purchases of cocksfoot have been on tho basis of 6d to 6jd per lb. to farmers, with little movement. The wet weather has meant ;; sudden increase in tho price of potatoes for prompt delivery. Morchants had been advising growers before holidays to tone down in their digging, as tho market was boing over supplied. Then came tho holidays, and now tho cessation of digging caused by tho weather. F.o.b. s.i. quotations aro £5 5a per ton, and for May delivery £5 10s, equal to £3 15s to £4 4s a ton on trucks. The Auckland market is pretty bare, tho Wingatui's cargo on Tuesday comprised only 1000 sacks. Tho onion market is quiet, values on trucks being about £7 a ton. MARKET REPORTS. FRUIT AND PRODUCE. Eggs advanced further in prico at tho Auckland City Markets yesterday. Supplies wero short and demand was very keen, Fruit was in extra heavy supply, but much ot it was of inferior grado. Moro than a sufficient ouantity of pears came forwaad, A small shipment of 300 cases of Cook Island oranges, which arrived in excellent condition, was offered A consignment of bananas was received in indifferent condition, A shipment of Fiji banuna-s 13 due next woek. Supplies of field produce wero adequate, and demand was fairly keen. Poultry waa in short supply, and mot with keen demand. Tho following prices wero realised;— FRUIT.
