CHARGE AGAINST FARMER.
ALLEGED THEFT OF COWS. POLICE GRANTED REMAND. [ 11Y TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. J HAMILTON, Wednesday. A farmer named James McKce, of Te Rapa, was charged before Mr. 11. A. Young, S.M., to-day, with the theft of 11 cows, valued at £55, the property of Robert James Hamilton, of Rangiriri. The police asked for a remand for a week, and this was granted. McKee was allowed bail in his own security of £3OO, with one surety of a like amount.
