A keen fitruggie took place in section D of the eighth round, between* Bell (Hamilton) and Parsons (Wellington),, Parsons held the commanding lead to the fifteeiiUi head, when, from a whining position he took the jack out. giving his opponent 6, thus equalising the score. 16 all. Bell added 2 on the nineteenth head, making the score 18 ail. Parsons was lying 3 when Bell trailed the jack for 3. Two dead head? followed. On the last bowl: Parsons' again: : lay 3, and Bell sprung the jack, leafing Parsons. 1 on the last bowl. Sell drew the shot. Winning by 22 to 18, amid grest eicitement. To Aroba Bowl, ing Club, i-eportiiig at the last meeting,, stated that the loss in tho South Auckland tournament amounted to £ll. This was due to bad weather and the piioi' support accorded by clubs. A resolution congratulating Sir. Pilkinglon and his team on having won the championship hi Wellington, was passed. Mr. Pilkingtoti was for two,years a member oi •the To Aroha Club. Accounts totalling £63 were passed for payment.. A su?n of £2 2s was voted to the To Aroha Baal in recognition of assistance given at concerts organised to entertain visiting bowlers, and very complimentary references were made to Mr. L. Buehan. bandmaster for the past 16 years, who is about to leave for Morrinsvilie. An invitation was accepted to play four rinks in an intcr-olnb match at, Waikino on Saturday, and it was also decided to compete in the seven-rink inter-club match at Ho®-': rinsville On February 21, and to challenge Matamata for a game early m _ March. Reference was made to the valuable trophies presented 'by Messrs. Willis Bros., and it was decided to wait upon this firm with a view to re-arratiging the conditions in regard to challengers.
