CLAIM TO A FORTUNE.
AN ITALIAN ROMANCE. BUCCANEER'S GREAT WEALTH. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Feb. 9. The Milan correspondent of tho Daily Express reports that a romantic echo of the days of piracy is heard in tho decision of Signor Calouzi legally to cfcira a fortune worth £1,000,000, now lying in tho Bank of Bombay. Calouzi claims to be the direct descendant of a former Italian naval officer, Frederick Delre, who fled in the" eighteenth century after killing a man in a quarrel. Pirates captured Delre, who joined the gang, became second in command, and inherited tho whole of tho chief's wealth. Calouzi bases bis claim upon an old document which was unearthed in Madagascar, where Delre settled down.
