FOOTBALL AFFAIRS.
Sir,—l have noticed in your ' columns reference to general matters in connection with the All Black match. Permit vine to express my surprise and regret that Auckland does not provide a beM«r football field. Probably in one season any scientific farmer could: put Eden Park in sufficiently good tilth to. withstand at least a few days showery weather, and the authorities certainly owe this much to both players and/public. Present conditions are very discreditable. Then those ridiculously small exit gates,.and the very indifferent approaches, used by the public, should be superseded by something more in keeping with the liberal patronage accorded the game. The union would be well advised to make haste in these matf ters, as dissatisfaction is widespread.
