RETAIL PRICE OF SUGAR.
REDUCTIONS ANNOUNCED.
AUCKLAND GROCERS* ACTION,
Redactions in the retail price of sugar were decided upon yesterday afternoon by the executive of the Auckland Grocers' Association, consequent on the announcement by the Colonial Sngar Refining Company that the wholesale price would bo lowered by 30s per ton.
Under the new schedule the cash prices for No. 1 and 1A refined sugar wilt, be as follows, the ruling rates previouslybeing shown in parentheses:—Per 701b. bag, 23s 3d (23s 9d): 351b. bag, 12s 6d (13s)} per 121b., 4s 6d (4s 7d); 61b. 3 2s 3d (2s4d); 21b., Sd (9£d.)
These prices which affect household sugars come into force immediately.
