The extension to fhe Knmeu station siding and loop line, the completion of | which has. been somewhat delayed owing to the strike and flood damage elsewheare requiring attention, has now been com-, pleted. TJbte metals were cut on Wednesday evening after the 9.45 tram had left for Auckland and the necessaryalteri*tions were quickly completed. The Kite was clear fpr traffic again by noon. The loop line has been lengthened by 6i chains, giving ample room for crossing the longest trains, while more important to local residents 5s the provision-of siding accommodation ;for a further nine waggons. A new entrance way is to be' provided and a metalled yard half a chain wide is being laid down. When the Whole wprk has been completed the station and yards should be adequate for the present "requirements of the district.
