Mr. J. A. Bnrnofct, of Takapuna, has returned to Auckland after a visit to England. He is at Stonehurst.
Superintendent W. Fonhy is at present making his final tour of inspection of the- Wanganni police district. H» will be retiring on August 13.
The Hon. Gi?orge Fowlds was yesterday re-elected president of the Anckland University Collegti Council, Professor A. P. W. "Thomas being re-elected vicepresident.
Captain William Waller, harboErmaster at ftew Plymouth, who has been in the hospital for,seme time, has recovered sufficiently to be able to return to his home.
Captain Gipsv Pat Smith, the evangelist, who suffered a breakdown -while conducting a campaign in Dunedin, arrived in Wellington from tho south ou Saturday morning.
Sir James Gunson and Mr. V. J. Lamer will leave by the Main Trunk express tins evening for Wellington to attend the quarterly meeting of the National War Funds Council. They expect to return to Auckland on Saturday.
