HUAPAI ORCHARDISTS.

PICKING SEASON CLOSED. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HUAPAI. Monday. The Huapai Fruitgrowers.' Co-operative Association held a general meeting on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 40, and several remits were passed for consideration by the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation Conference. Messrs. J. S. Trigg3, Shnttleworth, J. F. Porey, and G. E. JMatheson . were elected as delegates to the Auckland provincial conference. The majority of the local orchardists have now completed picking their apples, and the co-operative packing shed has been closed for the season. The number of cases handled by the shed this season was in the vicinity of 10,000. A largo proportion of the later varieties have been placed in cool store. Attention is now being given to the cultivation and sowing of soiling crops.
