BABY BUFFALO FOR ZOO.

BIRTH DURING VOYAGE.

The motor ship Haur&ki, which is due in Auckland from Vancouver on February 26, is bringing a bull and three buffalo cows for the Auckland Zoo. On February 2, according to a wireless message received in Vancouver from the vessel, another buffalo arrived to join the bull's family, the birth having taken place during a heavy storm off San Francisco. Much excitement was caused aboard the ship when the carpenter and the boatswain attempted to give the bull an airing. He gave them a wild time before he could be returned to his stall.
