The throe Japanese cruisers, Asama, Yakumo, and Iwate, are due to arrive from Wellington this morning. The flagship, the Asama, and the Yakumo, will berth at the east side of Prince's Wharf at 10.30 a.m. The Iwate will remain in tho stream during the visit. HERTFORD DUE 1 A.M. TO-MORROW. The Federal Line steamer Hertford. Captain 'Weston, en route from London to Auckland, has reported by wireless to the New Zealand Shipping Company that she will arrive at 1 a.m. to-morrow. Besides cargo for discharge at Auckland. Welling* ton, Dunedin and Bluff, the Hereford has on board 548 bags of ordinary mails and 136 bags of parcels from England for New Zealand. R.M.S. MAKURA IN PORT. The Royal Mail steamer Makura arrived from Sydney at 9.25 a.m. yesterday. After medical inspection in the stream the vessel berthed at the Central Wharf to disembark 130 passengers for Auckland, and to load New Zealand produce for Honolulu and Vancouver. The vessel was delayed for 12 hours at Sydney owing to a mishap to her steering gear. She left, there at midnight on Thursday and experienced- light winds and smooth seas to Auckland. The vessel made a smart passage and covered the distance in three days six hours, at an average speed of 16.4 knots. A number of passengers will join the vessel at this port, and. ehe> is timed to resume her voyage to Vancouver, via Suva and Honolulu, at 5 p.m. to-day. PAPAROA BERTHED. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Paparoa, which arrived at Auckland from Liverpool at midnight on Sunday, was berthed at the Queen's Wharf yesterday morning to disembark 25 saloon and 255 steerage passengers for New Zealand and to discharge about 1500 tons of general merchandise for this port. The vessel loaded at Glasgow, Avonmoufch and Liverpool. She sailed from Liverpool on December 29 and experienced an exceptionally fine weather trip All the way to Auckland. Colon was reached on January 16. On the following day the Paparoa passed through the Panama Canal and cleared Balboa in the evening. On January 30 a three-hour stop was mad# at Pitcairn Island to allow the islanders to visit the vessel. The Paparoa's speed in the Pacifio averaged nearly 12 knots. From Auckland the vessel proceeds to Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin. to complete discharge. Captain F.
