The Taranaki Jockey Club'iii Jubilee Meeting, which is fixed to be held on Thursday and Saturday next, promises to be & very noteworthy gathering, and it is anticipated that there will be a large assemblage of veteran sportsmen. The New Plymouth racecourse is recognised a» one of the beauty spots in a beautiful town, and this year the floral display will be in. full keeping with the jubilee. The Taranaki Jubilee Cup will be something more than a mere name. A hundredguinea gold cup forms the _ trophy, and it is a very beautiful specimen of the goldsmith's art. The applications received for accommodation have been very extensive, and it is quite certain that all previous records, have already been broken. AUCKLAND HORSES SHIPPED. Jolly ' Gay, Esthonia. Ruapapa, Royal Blood. Bretland, Landslide. Sheffield, Whin Rook, and Kuhio were shipped to New Plymouth by the Rarawa yesterday with a view to fulfilling engagements at the Taranaki Jubilee Meeting. The action of the committee of the Rotorua Racing Club in guaranteeing a special train from Frankton to Rotorua and back on the occasion of their annual race meeting to-morrow, may be expected to play an important part in inducing a large conoourso of racegoers to make the trip. 7*"'" train is timed to leave Frankton for Rotorua to-morrow at 6.40 a.m.. and will arrive at Rotorua at 11.5 a.m. The return train leaves Rotorua at 6.15 p.m., and will reach Frankton at 10.30 p.m. Marble Bell. Tactician. Boomerday, Gold Plane. King Multifid, and Royal Fame are to compete at the Rotorua meeting, and were railed to Rotorua yesterday. THE WANGANUI CUP. By an oversight, Mark Time (9.3) was omitted from the list of weights telegraphed for the Wanganui Cup. AUSTRALIAN RACING. NEW ZEALAND HORSES WIN. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Feb. 11. At the Moorfield meeting on Saturday the New Zealand-bred gelding Abeurdum (by Absurd—Hollywood), won the Flying Handicap (C fur.), under 9.2; Marcinelle (8.0) was second, and Mollie B. (8.0) third. Absurdum won by two lengths in lm 15 3-ss. BATHOS SCORES. The New Zealand-bred gelding Bathos (by Absurd—Amyrin), registered a good performance at the Canterbury Park meeting on the 2nd inst., when he won the Three-year-old Handicap (6 fur.), under 10.0, beating a field of seven in easy stylo in lm 1418.
