THE WOOD'S* bay fatality. [BY TELEGRAPH. —-OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES. Monday. An inquest was held to-day on the bodies of Robert Glasgow and Gordon Francis Scott, who were drowned in the boat accident at Woods .Bay yesterday. The evidence showed that the accident was caused by overloading the boat, which was an ordinary fisherman's dinghy. The boat was in a somewhat bad condition, and nine or ten persons left the beach in it in order to reach the launch, which was anchored about 500 yds. out. The heavy load caused the boat, to swamp and capsize, 'when a short distance out. throwing all the occupants into the water. Several young children and the Misses Scott, aged 14 and 12 respectively, were assisted to the overturned boat, and clung to it while Mr. Brien sKvam ashore for another boat. Mr. Scott, who was in difficulties , a short distance away from the boat, called for help, and Mr. Glasgow, who was a good swimmer, .went to hie assistance. They were seen to both sink together. A number of people who were on the shore at once rushed to the rescue, and all the other occupants were saved. A verdict of accidental drowning, caused by the overloading of the boat, was retarded.
