It was expected that a start would be made in April on . the new Edendale extension. In addition, for the current year there was a very heavy programme of duplication work and a considerable length of reconstruction of lines. The duplications would include the Onehunga, Grey Lynn and Remuera lines, which would be completed by September, "the reconstruction of old lines at . present provided for would take till July. 1925. The question of renewals and special work at some of the points and junctions for the better security of traffic was also receiving the attention of the management.
