MondayAlthough Waitomo farmers are jubilant at the good prices received for wool anxiety is beginning to be felt at the absence of needed ram. The want of it is not noticeable in districts like Mangaotaki, where there has been a regular fall, but the pastures are looking very burnt up in other ' parts of the country. This afternoon Te Kuiti was surounded by smoke from burning bush, the sun showing through the haze like a red ball. POSITION AT TE AJftOHA. _____ % TANKS RUNNING LOW. [BY TELEGRAPH. — CORRESPONDENT.] TE AP.OHA. Monday. Rain is 11 Jaded greatly in the district, and if a substantial downpour does not come soon Ihe farmers will be heavy losers. Already the pastures are showing the need for moisture. • In the country districts where tanks are the medium for the water supply people are, being put to much inconvenience, as the supply-is practically exhausted. The Te Airpna borough council has warned residents against the waste of water ; from the town supply," Which, also, is becoming - limited. The use of garden hoses is not mow permitted.
