The cricket match between New South Wales and Welling ton was continued on the Basin. Reserve to-day, but late in the afternoon was abandoned owing to rain. The New South Wales team's second innings was declared closed with three wickets down for 332. Wellington had made 40 of the required 450 runs when pla£ stopped When stumps were drawn on Saturday New South Wales, in their second innings, had made 38 for one wicket, Andrews being the not-oufc man with 23 to his credit. This morning Macartney accompanied Andrews to the crease. Collins missed Andrews off the last ball of Henderson's first over. 13rice bowled a maiden to Macartney. Henderson had his "revenge" on Andrews two overs later, the batsman placing one In Banks' hands. 55—2-9.

Kippax filled the vacancy. Brice again succeeded in keeping Macartney quiet, and Henderson bowled a maiden to Kippax. The batsmen were scoring at a far slower rate than in their first innings.. Hiddleston just seemed to be settling down when he was clean bowled by a yorker from Everett. It was a beautiful ball and beat the batsman all the way. 27——40. The incoming batsman had been at the wickets for 17 minutes, and hit four fours.
