The local bodies' levy on the Tauranga Board under existing legislation is £2766, and under the proposed legislation it will be £2390. The rate of subsidy on the pound of levy under the Sng legislation is 1& 3d and under the proposed legislation it is <KB. The Director-General of Health forwarded a circular stating that the department will reimburse any board for the treatment of any Maori patients suffering froir. enteric fever at the rate of £1 a week It was decided to ask the department why payment should not be made for all Maori patients, irrespective of ailMr F.
