EMPIRE EXHIBITION.
SUNDAY OPENING FAVOURED.
OPPORTUNITY FOR CHURCH.
LONDON, Oct. 26.
General Noble Jenkins, C.M.G., secretary of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, favours opening the British Empire Exhibition on Sundays.
"Many people," he says, "will find Sunday a convenient day for the quiet study of the intellectual and educational side of the exhibition, probably welcoming that day as being free from other distractions. The exhibition presents a great opportunity for the people generally to appreciate the Empire's vast fields of religious activity. "The Church," he added, "should provide its own exhibit, and endeavour to demonstrate the great function it is per-| forming in firmly establishing all over the world the Christian principles of justice and equity.
