LANGUAGE IN HOTEL BAR.
MAN SENT TO GAOL. Three months' imprisonment for using obscene language in an hotel bar, in Queen Street, was imposed on John William Anderson, aged 27, in the Police Court yesterday by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M. Accused said he did not remember the incident, but admitted that he might have used the language complained of, a:> they were having a row at the time. The magistrate was about to impose a sentence of seven days' hard labour when Senior-Sergeant Rawle pointed out that this was accused's ninth conviction for obscene language. A sentence of three months' imprisonment was thereupon imposed. __
