S. Brigham, said Mr. Lovell was the first employee to retire under the superannuation scheme formulated by the Mayor and the present council. MrLovell joined the staff when the municipal offices consisted of two rooms, situated over a shop in Queen Street. On behalf of the staff he wished Mr. and Mrs. Loveli every good fortune and long enjoyment of their well-earned period of retirement.
