HOLIDAYS FOR SHOPS.
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.
TWO DAYS IN EACH WEEK.
The shopping hours recommended by the retail section of the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association to be observed by shops during the Cb-istmas and New Year season are -as follows: — During the week preceding Christmas week, the ordinary shopping hours will be observed. On Monday, Christmas Eve, the shops will remain open till 10 p.m. Christmas Day and Boxing Day are holidays, and the shops reopen on the Thursday. The closing hours for the Thursday and Friday are 5.30 p.m. or 6 p.m., as ,may be arranged by the /individual trades. On Saturday, shops will close at 1 p.m. On Monday, December 31, the closing hour will be "•. 7 0 p.m. or 6.30 p.m., whila on Tuesday and Wednesday (New Year's Day and January 2) the shops will toe closed. Thursday will be the reopening day, and Friday will be the ordinary late night for the week. Saturday's closing time will be 1 p.m
