TECHNICAL COLLEGE CADETS.
INSPECTION IN COMPETITION.
• The Seddon Memorial Technical College Cadet Corps paraded at the Domain yesterday afternoon for inspection in connection with the Riddiford Cup competition.. Colonel W. L. H. Burgess, Major P. B. Henderson and Captain Omway, of Defence Headquarters Staff, Wellington, wen the judges, and the Technical College Cadets were under the command of Major O'Shauncssev. About 400 boys paraded and the fall in and march past, which were first on the programme, were carried out with remarkable steadiness. Each of the inspecting officers then took the section in turn, every section being put through the various "branches of cadet drill. The inflection was , a very thorough one, two and a-half hours being required to complete the tests given. Colonel Burgess, addressing the boys, at the. conclusion of the parade, referred to the very high standard reached by the secondary school companies in the Riddiford Cup competition. He congratulated the boys on the honour of representing the northern command, and on their performance on the parade ground. Two other schools, Nelson College Cadets and Scots' College, Wellington, are to be inspected by the judges on Saturday and Wednesday next. . The Riddiford Cup was presented by Mr. W. Riddiford, of Wairarapa, for the most efficient secondary school cadet company in the Dominion."
