AYRSHIRE BREEDERS.
Our cling correspondent -writes:-— The popularity of the Ayrshire is becoming more pronounced, and this fact was strongly emphasised at the Palmerston North show when pride of place had to ie given to the Ayrshires in view of the fact that the breed was represented by iver 80 choice specimens, whilst the second best was the Jersey, which was represented by 63. In view of the favourable position into which the association has been placed it was quite natural for members of tho Ayrshire Breeders' Association to be jubilant that the Ayrshire entries had exceeded all others in tho show. Speaking at the halfyearly meeting held at Palmerston North, the chairman, Mr. A. S. Hansen, reported that the association now had a financial membership of some 190 breeders, of which" Borne 40 odd members had joined in the last twelve months or so, indicating the increasing [popularity of the Ayrshire. There was a 70 per cent increase" in the registration of animals over that of last year. The committee had decided on a Sr1 V f!°* rU I advertising campaign.
