CAPTAIN OF TREVESSA.

PUBLIC PRESENTATION.

A. and N.Z.

LONDON, Oct. 17.

Captain Foster, captain of the Trevessa, was the recipient at the Liverpool Town Hall of a silver salver, the gift of the Imperial Merchant Guild, and an aneroid barometer from the Shipwrecked Mariners' Benevolent Society. The Lord Mayor made the presentation in the presence of a large gathering of shipmasters, oifioers, and their wives. He paid a tribute to the marvellous pluck and skilful navigation and discipline which brought the Trevessa's crew to safety.
