Two conferences . between the coalmine owners and the representatives, of the miners took place to-day in regard to the deadlock connection '.with the West Coast mines.; , The Minister for Mines, Hon. G. J. Anderson, . presided. It was announced this evening that an adjournment until to-morrow morning had been agreed to. : No statement of - what occurred at the conference was available from either party, or from the Minister.

At a meeting of the Executive of the Buller Progress League to-day. it was decided to send a. telegram to the Minister for Mines, urging him to convene a conference between the miners' delegates and the mine owners, with a view of settling the dispute causing the stoppage at tho coal mines; and also to ask Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P., to convey a" similar message to the Minister.
