CRICKET.
AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. DECISIONS OF COMMITTEE. The Committee at the Auckland Cricket Association met last evening, Mr. Naldeu presiding * The Question of grounds was discussed : at some length. An offer of Numbers 1, 2, 4. and 5 grounds, Remuera, for £100 for the season, was received, but the matter , was deferred until the next meeting. ' It is understood that the City Council will allot grounds to-morrow evening', and it was decided to send a . deputation to place the association's needs before th& council. There are already 52 teams on the register, but the date for registration has been extended to Tuesday, October 28. Permission was granted the Pam ell Club to send a team to Swanson to take part in the local Labour Day celebrations. It was reported. that Mr. Fred Earl had received a telegram to the effect that. East Coast cricketers were desirous of forming, a separate union. Mr. Earl's report on the communication was favourable. Some dissatisfaction seems to exist among the, junior players, and it was suggested that ■,» sub-committee of juniors, representative of • the' several grades, be establishedMessrs. Dow and Horspopl were .appointed to report on the advisability of this step, and to ascertain what matters ' would be under the jurisdiction of the sub-committee. Those present expressed willingness to ao everything possible to help,;the juniors, who must be . encouraged if Auckland is to have good cricketers in the future. .' Mr. K.
