The presidential address at the Trades Unions Congress warned organised workers against the belief' that the millennium was attainable by- political methods alone. Even a Labour Government would not mean the abolition of the capitalist system. Strong trade unions would always be necessary. The war had made little if any difference in the methods of employers. The same antagonism existed as before the war.
