PUKAKI ON A REEF.

TWELVE MILES OFF NOUMEA. • NO IMMEDIATE DANGER. :Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 9.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. July 24. Advices received state that the s.s. Pukaki, bound from: Walpole Island to Dunedin, struck a reef 12 miles from Noumea on Sunday, night. The agents consider the vessel is not in an alarming position. - A later message states that the Pukaki is still, fast on the reef, but she, is not making any water. The Pukaki is a steamer of 1444 tons, owned by W. Crosby and Company, of Melbourne. She was built in 1887 at Dumbarton. ~ f 1
