SALVATION ARMY SERVICE
For 12 months a cadet, then a cadetsergeant, now captain—thus has the Hon. Annie Kinnaird, daughter of Lord Kinnaif d, taken up permanent service in the Salvation Army, She was one of an enthusiastic company at the Clapton Congress Hall, which : celebrated i 500 promotions to commissioned rank all eager for work in diversified spheres. Captain Kinnaird is attached to the International Training Garrison in London, and shewill share in the training of ,v* omen students. ; Living ; at the Clapton College for • the past two years, she passed through the ordinary probationary duty, taking her part': as a cadet in , household service, and as a sergeant in supervising such work, as well as joining regular contingents for house-to-house visitation and out-door meetings. Captain Kinnaird's experiences as a cadet may be gathered from a typical day's time-table at Clapton. * : ■ i , *....' "7 a.m. The arouse. 7 to Household duties. '■••-. Wednesdays and Saturdays— ments allpcated to corps around London, for house-to-house visitation, and selling the War Cry, the evenings being occupied by open-air meetings, and the later services at the corps barracks. "The social work has in particular strongly appealed to Captain 5 Kinnaird's interest and deep sympathy,"- remarks the Army Officer. "Of course* we are all ready to respond to any call for duty, whatever its source."
