That there is need for more coif links in and about Wellington is amply shown by the success which has attended the forma. tion of , the Banui Club. Though the organisation was only reaUy~«set going oefore Christmas, the club in tee intervening few months has acquired the lease, with a parcha«ing clause, of 350 acres of excellent golfing country at Taw* Flat, with suitable buildings or clubhouses, and has already a membership of 173. The official opening of the new club took p.aca on Saturday cfterr.c-an. when there was a large gathering of membra and golfers from the city, over 200 people being present. ... The majority of toe golfer? present enjoyed a earoe over a few of the holes on the new link?. At present only eleven holes are plaved, but four more will be" ready j by the end of this w**k. The property, for j the most part, has a beautiful sward of English grass, while the stream which meanders through the links provides plenty of natural [ bunkers. The club has secured the services as groundsman of Mr. Ritchie, who was brought out from Berwick some years ago by the Miramax Golf Club.
