' At. a meeting of the New ; Zealand Cricket Council the chairman stated the Hawke Cup competition had been put in the hands of a special committee, but ,it had not been found possible to evolve a satisfactory scheme. The group system was impracticable; owinc to the expense and ; difficulties of travelling.
