Mr. R. S. Abraham, of Palmerston ,•. North, has retired from the ' position of ~' general manager. cf Messrs. Abraham ■ and - Williams. A complimentary banquet was \ tendered Mr. Abraham,, who was presented with a gold watch from the directorate and staff. He continues on the" company as chairman of the board. ' '

Apart from, his. professional .ucittvitieg , Mr. Lomaa; is secretary of the Wellington v';.; : ; Philosophical Society, and in his younger days was a prominent footballer in ■ Dim- - edin. ,Ho is at present? a memberS of the Victoria ; Collesrei Council, representing ■ secondary school*., Mr. Lomas travelled extensively in America, studying educa- : tional problems, and also spent two years as,principal of a boys' college in Korea.
