TEACHERS AND THE OATH.
APPROVAL OF THE TEST. 'ATTITUDE OF HOUSEHOLDERS The oath ; of ; allegiance. for school .teach-' ers met with the approval : of a.■ number of householders' meetings last evening. 7: A remit was submitted-. by the Primary School Teachers' Association ■ to every householders' meeting in Auckland,; reading as follows :—'That ; the Minister ; for Education ■' bis: congratulated ;; on .his ! firm action in regard to; the oath - of 'allegiance; and trusts that , the law will not in' the least be. relaxed."' , '< The remit was endorsed by several of th meetings and was merely . received by others. The Mount Eden householders ; passed tho resolution' with the following; addition :"That the Act be amended so that. the oath shall. apply to all members of school committees,, members of' boards of education and similar ' educational bodies, also to all staffs; of all registered private schools."
