" A FIRST-CLASS JOB." "BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHRISTCHURCH. Monday. At the conclusion of a visit to the Olira tunnel on Saturday in connection with the electrification works, Mr. L. Birks, chief electrical engineer to tho New Zealand Government, was asked his opinion as to the quality of the work being done. Mr. Birks, who spent a gre'.t amount of time in investigating all the details of tho work, replied: "I think it is a first-class job. and the progressmade is very satisfactory."
