WHAKATANE PUTS BACK.
DEFECT IN REFRIGERATOR. [BY TET.EGJIAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON", Monday. The Whakatane, which left Wellington at 7 a.m. yesterday for Avonmonth, put back at 1 o'clock this morning, having developed engine trouble. Shortly after noon yesterday it was discovered that the port refrigerating engine, upon which repairs had been carried out while the vessel was completing loading, had developed trouble, caused by the condenser. Repairs will be effected within two days'and the Whakatane will sail on vVc-dn esday.
