DANCING AND MORALS.
Sir,—ln regard to the evil or otherwise of dancing, which is now being discussed,. I should like to mention an incident in connection with the question. Some years ago, in a small country township where I resided,; when a dance or other entertainment was being held, a number of young hooligans, from 15 to 18 years, congregated outside the hall, and amused themselves by making foul remarks and other-: wise misconducting ; themselves. ■''■■■ iTo counteract this, it was decided to take the lads in hand and give them dancing lessons, and they soon became proficient and eager to. join in any function taking place. It was the means of diverting the boys from their larrikin habits, and their general conduct improved immensely. : : "' v R.B.
