•Business was fairly:; active yesterday on the Auckland sharemarket. In Government securities War Loans, 1938, changed hands at £97 ss, with further buyers .at that figure and no late sellers: The , same price was offered for the 1939 issue, and the 1927 issue was wanted at £97 ,10s. Soldiers' Loan, bonds and inscribed stock, had demand at £101, and there were sellers of the former at £102. For ■ j New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, buyers were offering £97 ss, sellers • asking £97 12s 6d. In debenture stocks Auckland Harbour Board, 6 per cent., had sale at £105, with further buyers at that price and .no more sellers. ; In banks Nationals sold at £6 13s 6d, more being sought at £6 12s, sellers £6 14s. New ZeaJands were done at ' 60s 6d, late sellers 60s" 3d, buyers -60s. Unions sold at £14 8s 6d, more being wanted at £14 7s 6d, sellers £14 10s. Australasias were j looked for at £13 ss, sellers £13 12s 6d. Commercials were wanted at 38s 6d (ord.) and at £6 15s (pref.) witn sellers of the latter at £7 la. For P. and O.'s buyers offered £13 ss. In insurances Nationals were in good demand at 78s. sellers at 80s 6d. New Zealands at 29s 9d had buyers at 295. South British were sought at 375/ sellers 38s 3d. Standards were on offer at 40s. In gas Aucklands (paid up) changed hands. at 25s 5d and 25s 6d. In shipping. Huddart-Par-lcers (ord.) sold •at 42s 6d and 435,. and P. and O.'s at £340 (deferred stock). In woollens Kaiapois were at ; 22s 9d. In miscellaneous lines Wilsons Cements changed hands; at ,25s 9d, In :• mining," Waihis were done at 275, more being wanted at 26s 6d, sellers 27s 3d. Grand Junctions at 7s 6d had buyers at 7s Id. Njjw Waiotahis sold , at Is and Is Id, late buyers Is, sellers.
