MARRIAGES AND BIRTHS.
INCREASES IN APRIL;
FEWER DEATHS RECORDED The vital statistics for Auckland show, increases in births and marriages, ; and decreases in. deaths for; the month of April compared with the . figures for the corresponding month of ; last year. The number of births recorded last month was 259, : as against 225 in the previous April, and 252 in March of this year. The deaths in April totalled .124, as ; against 129 in April, 1922. ' ' •/: y '■ - The increase in marriages is ay slight one. : There were: 169 marriage licenses issued in April, compared -with 167 in the corresponding month of 1922. The registrar performed 42 marriages in the month under review, which is one in excess of the number for April, 1922.
