The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows Present indications are for variable breezes, but moderate to strong easterly to northerly winds prevailing shortly; weather fair to cloudy generally, but dull and misty at times in northern and southernmost districts. Tho barometer has a falling tendency. HERALD SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening: The weather is likely to be cloudy to overcast at times, with occasional light showers, in Auckland and northern districts. Strong easterly to north-easterly winds, freshening in the north. Still fine and clear in the South, moderate to strong south-easterly winds .prevailing. . ""Seas rough 'and increasing.
