General BramwelT Booth, of the, Salvation Army, has ; signed an agreement with the Duke of Devonshire, Secretary of State for the' Colonies, '■', to develop a scheme to. encourage the migration to the Dominions of single women, widows with families, and orphans. ' "m". ;_; ' Following the decision: of the ' Colonial Office Conference to create several experiments of county committees for the furtherence of migration, a meeting was held at the Cannon Street Hotel to- form a committee for Kent. Speakers favoured the formation of "counties overseas" by the migration of; families in drafts, ' also co-operative farms in the Dominions. ;
