THE YARRA MYSTERY.
NURSE MITCHELL ACQUITTED.
NO PROOF OF OPERATION.
A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. April 21. Nurse Mitchell was acquitted on a charge of murder of an unidentified girl whose body was found in the Yarra River, and the Judge ' •withdrew the alternative count of manslaughter.
In a statement from the dock, Nurse Mitchell endorsed much of the evidence given by Crown witnesses to the effect that the body was hidden, but she denied having performed an' operation.
