STOCKS AND SHARES.

Business -was very quiet on the Auckland sharemarket on Saturday. There as a fair demand for investment stocks, most lines of Government securities being inquired for at late rates. War Loans, 1938, were, quoted at buyers £97 ss, sellers £98. Inscribed Stock, 1929, -was on offer at £97 10s, no buyers quoting, and for the 1938 issue £97 Ss was offered, sellers asking £97 15s. In banks New Zealands had demand at 61s, sellers asking 62s 6d. Nationals at £6 15s were wanted at £6 13s. There was inquiry for .New South Wales at £37 15s, without response. In insurances New Zealands were ; i quoted at buyers 28a 9d, sellers 29s 3d. ' South British were inquired for at 38a 3d, and Nationals at 77s 6d, no sellers quoting. In mining a sale was recorded i in Waihi Grand Junction at Bs, the price asked by sellers, and there was further inquiry at 7s 7d. Waihis were quoted at buyers 27s 9d, sellers 28s 9d. For Moanataiaris 3s was offered, sellers asking Os 2d. The following sale took place:—Waihi j brand Junction, Bs.
