GARDEN COMPLEXIONS.
Few modern women realise how much the products of the kitchen garden will help toward the attainment of a good complexion. To begin with, asparagus— that is good for the complexion, and, if you emulate the donkey and eat some raw carrot every day your skin, will clear and • whiten and your appetite will improve Cabbage, cauliflower, and spinach are all of great benefit to anaemic people, so should be eaten freely, cabbage bing better, finely shredded and served in salad form than cooked. As for the lired feeling, which comes to us usually in the spring and late summer or early autumn—beet and dandelion tops, dock, horseradish, mustard, and parsely are all good in season, for they not only clear the blood, but regulate the system. Tomato juice is a good remedy for sunburn, and freckles as well. Skin and seed the tomatoes, then squeeze out the juice with a lemon squeezer, and dab on as you would cucumber juice.
