SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE.
POSITION AT CAMBRIDGE.

Heavy rains have fallen in this district during the past two days and streets in the town have been flooded. Yesterday 2.40 in. of rain were registered. The total for the 24 hours up to 9 a.m. today is 5.34 in. ; Old residents state that this is the heaviest fall in a short period for many years. A gerat many houses suffered slight damage, the rain penetrating the : roofs.
