DRUG SMUGGLERS CAUGHT.
MID-ATLANTIC CAPTURE.
DETECTIVES HIDE IN SHIP.
i CARGO VALUED AT £100,000. By Telegraph Press Association— - (Received 4.50 p.m.) A. and N.Z. NEW YORK, April 21. The Montreal police announce that a. huge shipment of drugs, valued at 500,000 dollars, intended to bo smuggled into Canada and the United States, was seized in an unnamed vessel in mid-Atlantic by Scotland Yard officials, who secreted themselves aboard while the ship lay in an English port, en route from Germany to Halifax. The British Secret Service in Germany supplied information which led to the capture of the smugglers ''41handed. The vessel was handed over to the Canadian authorities at Halifax.
